Fairy Princess Tutu

My oldest Niece turned 4 yrs old this past weekend. When I asked her parents what she wanted for her birthday gift, they said she wasn’t into anything specific – just “beautiful” things. Such a broad category! Fortunately, my Niece is a classic “girly girl”, so that narrowed the field quite a bit. When I came across this blog post from Samster Mommy via whip up, I knew I had to make her a stuffed tutu.

I bought 1.5. yds of pink tulle from my local fabric store and raided my craft supplies for the other bits I needed. I happened to have a jar of fabric flowers from a long-since-forgotten (thank goodness) scrapbook project, and I finally settled on a 2-inch wide silver/white ribbon for the tie. I followed the directions on the blog post and came up with this:

Unfortunately, I wasn’t there when my Niece opened her gift, but was sent this message soon after:

“Thank you, Aunt Rose. Now I’m a real fairy!”
